Scott Rohter for Oregon Senate

About Me

A determined property rights activist since 1995, I am the author of Oregon House Bill 3453 during the 1995 session of the Oregon Legislature, which became Oregon House Bill 4111 during the 2012 session of the Oregon Legislature and finally succeeded in bringing the Oregon State Constitution into compliance with the United States Constitution respecting private property rights and the Bill of Rights.

In 2008 I successfully challenged the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicle’s practice of allowing police officers to anonymously refer drivers to the DMV for retesting. At that time the DMV had compiled secret files on over thirty thousand Oregon drivers containing largely hearsay and unsubstantiated information.

I am the author and publisher of www.lessgovisthebest.com and www.lessgovisthebestgov.com. Through my websites I advocate for a return to the principles of limited government and personal responsibility without which freedom cannot stand. My articles have been republished from time to time on various other websites across America including RedState.com, FreeRepublic.com, and EmergingCorruption.com .

In 2006 I wrote an important poem about our country’s open borders in which I called for building a wall on our southern border long before Donald Trump became President. The poem is called “An Open Border – America’s Achilles Heel.” It appeared on the national website of WeNeedaFence.com.
