‘Cain’s Black Walnut’ in the Kentucky Derby of his Life
-by Scott Rohter, November 2011

To borrow a quote from an anonymous Democrat President whose wife just happens to be our current Secretary of State, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman!”  I think Herman Cain should take a page out of Bill Clinton’s little notebook, or Clinton’s ‘little black book’, the next time that a reporter for the New York Slimes, or 'Messed Up NBC' asks Herman Cain a question about his alleged sexual misconduct when he was the president of the National Restaurant Association.  Herman Cain should simply say, “I did not have my hand on that woman’s thigh!”  OR, “It depends on what the definition of have is!” At least that’s what Bill Clinton would say!

I personally can’t tell who is, or who isn’t telling the truth about these sexual harassment allegations.  I don’t know who to believe, the accusers, or the accused. They both sound pretty convincing! And if you are perfectly honest with yourself, neither do you.  But it sure does keep a lot of people tuned to their radios and television sets, to hear the next installment of the unfolding campaign drama of Herman Cain.  I wonder who is reaping all the profits from all of this interest in Herman Cain’s campaign, besides Herman Cain himself!  Can anyone say, the national media?  I didn’t hear ABC, NBC, or CBS even mention Michele Bachmann’s name this morning at the top of the hour news broadcast, or Ron Paul’s name, or Rick Santorum’s name, for that matter. I guess she is also just too boring to make it on the evening news.

Let’s face it, all of the Republican Presidential hopefuls are like horses in a great horse race! This is the Kentucky Derby of Politics, and they are like stallions in a great stable, of the owners of the national media.  The owners of the mainstream media are not going to let a particular horse run in the main race, unless they can first show that they can produce a lot of money for their ‘handlers and owners’!  Figuratively speaking at least, that would be the owners of the national media!  That’s why no one in the media is even mentioning the names of Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum, or Ron Paul!  The owners of the mainstream media don’t see enough money being spent, or bet, on those horses!

But ‘Cain’s Black Walnut’ is another matter. It looks like he could actually produce, and therefore earn the right, to run in the main race against President Obama!  However, he needed a little promoting, a little better marketing, maybe even a little controversy to stir up interest.  So the media ginned up all of this interest in ‘Cain’s Black Walnut’, by fanning the flames of these sexual harassment allegations, in order to get more people to bet more of their money on Herman Cain. And it worked! Herman Cain’s fundraising efforts have never been better! Donations to his campaign have skyrocketed! All of the Republican pundits are talking non-stop about Herman Cain now, to the detriment of all of the other candidates in the race. Many conservatives and Republicans feel like they just have to support Herman Cain now because he is being falsely maligned by the liberal media. There is a ‘circle the wagons’ mentality going on. If they supported him before these allegations came out, or even if they didn't, now they feel like they have no choice but to continue to support him, and stick with their man, in this horse race, because he is being falsely accused. Whoever leaked, and orchestrated these sexual harassment allegations actually did Herman Cain a favor!
